Paper Owls

I couldn't resist purchasing this Patterned Paper with the colorful girl owls.  Initially, it was the paper the design was printed on that grabbed my appeal.  When browsing through Scrapbooking Stores or stands at Craft Shows, I'll always pick up patterned paper that has been printed on brown paper or paper that has that recycled look.   I think it simply narrows down to the fact there is no 'white' on this card that I like the best.

The patterned paper is double sided and has the same color circles on the back.  I've used a rectangle of the circles with four of the gorgeous girl owls in this design and separated the 2 by some Early Espresso taffeta ribbon tied in a knot. The card is double mounted on Soft Suede card stock and Early Espresso card stock with the top punched in a decorative scallop.

Once Upon A Time

The pretty patterned papers used in these cards is called 'Once Upon A Time' and are perfectly suited for a princess having a Birthday.
Ribbon has been added to some of the cards, whilst another has a couple of row of bling to add that Sparkle and Glitz, which I think most young girls will adore.

Princess Birthday Wishes

I'm loving the different color combinations used on these Princess Birthday Wishes cards, however, I cannot take credit for choosing the color combinations.  Stampin' Up! have a Color Coach where you choose a color like Tempting Turquoise and see the Creative Combinations.  In the first card for example, the Creative Combinations with Tempting Turquoise are Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo.
Quite often I find myself fanning through the Color Coach looking for color combinations that appeal to me.  I didn't necessarily want to use Pink for these cards, but they still needed to be girly.
The second card uses Tempting Turquoise, Rich Razzleberry and Pear Pizzazz.
The third card uses Perfect Plum, Marina Mist and Rose Red.
The design of this card is versatile in that 'numbers' can be stamped above or beside the 'birthday wishes' greeting.  I recently stamped a couple of cards with '13' above the 'birthday wishes' greeting for my nieces' friends and they looked really good.

Wonderful Mother

As mentioned in the 12345 Happy Birthday blog posting a few days ago, here's the Wonderful Mother card that I have made for my mum for Mother's Day.  The love hearts patterned paper is gorgeous and co-ordinates perfectly with the pinking hearts border punch.  Truly wonderful, just like my mum.

Cute by the Inch

The thank U and thinking of you stamped images on these cards are from the Stampin' Up! Cute by the Inch stamp set.  There are 9 different stamps in the set, but I've only got 2 cards left to post on my blog today.  4 colors were chosen for the card design, Pear Pizazz, Daffodil Delight, Marina Mist and Blushing Bride.  The positioning and arrangement of the stamped image was the same for all cards.  The only elements that changed were the background card stock, the ribbon, punched flowers and brads.  The punched flowers were finished with a small silver brad before being adhered onto the ribbon with glue dots.  Simple and symmetrical.

Layered Birthday Cake

I'm loving the bold bright colors used on the first two Layered Birthday Cake cards, they feel happy and cheery.  For the Layered design, once I've chosen the main patterned paper, I see which of the plain card stock looks best as the background.  I then choose the same color as the next layer on top of the main patterned paper and build from there using the 2nd color. The flowers and striped patterned paper is from the Stampin' Up! Pawsitively Prints 11 Designer Series Paper.
The 3rd card is in a single color with different patterned paper.  For the main patterned paper, I chose a design where green was the dominate color, then for the next layer, chose a design where white was the dominate color.  The white layer with the ribbon and button has been textured embossed and then mounted on card stock.
The stamped Birthday Cake is from the Stampin' Up! Happy Moments stamp set.  The beauty of this stamp is that the occasion of the card speaks for itself and no Happy Birthday greeting is required.

1 2 3 4 5 Happy Birthday

The Designer Series Paper used on this Birthday Card is from the Stampin' Up! Play Date range.   I've kept the card design quite simple adding just a length of ribbon tied in a knot and a Scallop Trim border.   Stamp a Happy Birthday greeting, mount on matching card stock and the card is done.
Once I find a card design I like, I have a bit of a tendency to make more of the same design using different patterned paper, colors and border punches.   I know it's only March, but I have already made some Easter Cards and a card for my mum that I'll give for Mother's Day in this card design.  I'll post these over the coming days.

Happy Birthday Presents

I made these Happy Birthday Present cards quite a few months ago.  The color scheme inspirations came from the 2009-2010 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalogue (retired), style WATCH section.
The present box has been dot embossed to add a bit of texture and have been raised on the card using dimensionals.  The bows were punched with a small heart punch.  This is quite an easy card to make and is great for using up those scraps of card stock.

The first and fourth card features colors from the Retro Fresh collection and includes Pumpkin Pie, Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss, Summer Sun and Rose Red.
The second card features colors from the Sweet Bella collection and includes Riding Hood Red, Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette and So Saffron.
The third card features colors from Silhouette collection and includes Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss and Sahara Sand.

Tractor Punch Art

Punch Art seems to very popular at the moment in the crafting community.  I have quite a selection of different Stampin' Up! punches and was able to CASE this Tractor design.  The main color in this card is Cherry Cobbler, although my sister in law & I made a batch up and also used Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo and Marina Mist.
Especially on boys' cards, I like to use the Spiral Border punch, which is along the left side of the card.  The greeting 'may all your wishes come true!' is from the Stampin' Up! Heard from the Heart stamp set and has been stamped vertically just for something different.
I've included a photo to show how the punches are assembled to form the Tractor.

Happy Together

This stinkin' cute bird is from the Stampin' Up! Happy Together stamp set.   This set of cards is in Concord Crush, Peach Parfait, Blushing Bride and Poppy Parade, which are four of the current Stampin' Up! In Colors.  The patterned designer series papers are in the same colors and a couple of different designs were used in each card.
Although it may not be easy to see in these photo's, but the bird has been raised using dimensionals to give the card a bit more interest.  The branch is from the Two-Step Bird Extra-Large punch.
