Planes, Trains and Automobiles

In my patterned paper stock, I had a couple of sheets of transportation related sheets.  This is the card design I eventually came up with.  The pictures of the plane, train and other automobiles have been raised with dimensionals on top of the Pacific Point coloured card stock.  Add some strips of tracks and roads and a Happy Birthday greeting and the card is complete.  Perfect for a young boy.

Happy Birthday I {Heart} Owl

The Happy Birthday I {Heart} Owl card was designed as a masculine card.  Love the combination of the Riding Hood Red, Basic Black and Kraft designer series paper colours together.  Although this card was stamped with a Happy Birthday greeting, this would also be suited to a Happy Valentines or Happy Anniversary Card.

Happy Birthday Bird

I adore these 3 Stampin' Up! colours together - Pear Pizzazz, Poppy Parade and Blushing Bride.  The card design is feminine and who doesn't like a bit of bling.  One of the techniques I don't do that often (but should) is to round the corners on some of the card stock and designer series paper.  I believe this gives more interest and style to the card and the overall finish makes for one very pretty layered card.

Celebrate Masculine Owl

As you can see, I have developed quite an addiction to the Owl Stamp and Punch from Stampin' Up!.  I wanted to create a simple, but elegant masculine card and I believe you can't go past classic black and white with a small amount of bling.  Love a quick and easy card when you need a crafting fix, but are short on time.

Hootie Owls for girls

After creating the Hootie Owls for boys card, I couldn't resist creating a Hootie Owl girl version.  The green girl owl uses the Stampin' Up! colours of Wild Wasabi and Certainly Celery and the pink girl owl uses Melon Mambo and Pretty in Pink.  I love including buttons on cards.  These button brads are from the Designer Fabric Sweet Stitches range.  Just too cute!

Hootie Owl for boys

This Hootie Owl handmade card is perfectly suited for young boys.  I have used primary colours to keep the colour scheme in the design simple and am very pleased with the finished product.  The products used are all from Stampin'Up and include the colours Daffodil Delight, Real Red and Night of Navy.  Some of the cardstock has been textured embossed with Dots and  Square Lattice.  The owl itself has been stamped from a stamp set called Punch Bunch and then punched out using the Owl Builder.
